America Is On The Same Glide Path As The Fatal Germanwings Flight

America Is On The Same Glide Path As The Fatal Germanwings Flight

Germanwing airplane plane

The pilot was locked out of the cockpit. That phrase finally revealed the full horror of the crash of Germanwings flight 9525.

Co-pilot Andreas Lubitz waited for the pilot to leave the cockpit then locked the door to prevent his re-entry. After which Lubitz, for reasons unknown and perhaps unknowable, deliberately steered the jet into a harrowing 8-minute plunge, ending in an explosive 434 mph impact with a rocky mountainside. One hundred fifty men, women and children met an immediate, unthinkably violent death.

Lubitz, in his single-minded madness, couldn’t be stopped because anyone who could change the jet’s disastrous course was locked out.

It’s hard to imagine the growing feelings of fear and helplessness that the passengers felt as the unforgiving landscape rushed up to meet them. Hard, but not impossible.

America is in very deep trouble and we feel the descent in the pits of our stomachs. We hear the shake and rattle of structures stressed beyond their limits. We don’t know where we’re going anymore, but do know it isn’t good. And above all, we feel helpless because Barack Obama has locked us out.

He locked the American people out of his decision to seize the national healthcare system.

He locked us out when we wanted to know why the IRS was attacking conservatives.

He locked us out of having a say in his decision to tear up our immigration laws and to give over a trillion dollars in benefits to those who broke those laws.

Obama locked out those who advised against premature troop withdrawals. He locked out the intelligence agencies who issued warnings about the growing threat of ISIS.

He locked out anyone who could have interfered with his release of five Taliban terror chiefs in return for one U.S. Military deserter.

And, of course, Barack Obama has now locked out Congress, the American people, and our allies as he strikes a secret deal with Iran to determine the timeline (not prevention) of their acquisition of nuclear weapons.

Was Andreas Lubitz depressed, insane, or abysmally evil when he decided to lock that cockpit door and listen to no voices other than those in his head? Did he somehow believe himself to be doing the right thing? The voice recordings from the doomed aircraft reveal that as the jet began its rapid descent, the passengers were quiet. There was probably some nervous laughter, confusion, a bit of comforting chatter with seat mates, followed by a brief period in which anxiety had not yet metastasized into terror. It was only near the end of the 8-minute plunge that everyone finally understood what was really happening. Only near the end when they began to scream.

Like those passengers, a growing number of Americans feel a helpless dread as they come to the inescapable conclusion that our nation’s decline is an act of choice rather than of chance.

The choice of one man who is in full control of our 8-year plunge. I wonder when America will begin to scream.

The FBI is investigating a possible ISIS-inspired terrorist threat in the United States, law enforcement officials said Saturday.

The investigation originated from intercepted chatter and other intelligence information that led officials to believe a possible plot could be in the works, the officials said.

No arrests have been made. It’s not clear whether the threat is real or aspirational.

The exact nature of the threat couldn’t be learned. One official said it focused on parts of California where officials stepped up security, a U.S. official said.

The Transportation Security Administration alerted local law enforcement agencies that are responsible for external security around airports, but officials said the possible threat is not necessarily aviation-related.

Some cities around the United States have increased their security as a precaution.

A Department of Homeland Security spokesperson declined Saturday to talk about specifics, but spoke about security measures in general.

“Over the last few months, we have made a number of security adjustments, including enhanced screening at select overseas airports and increasing random searches of passengers and carry-on luggage on flights inbound to the U.S., reflecting an evolving threat picture,” the spokesman said.

He said the DHS added layers of security to the Electronic System for Travel Authorization. ETSA is an online application system to screen travelers before they are allow to board an airplane or ship bound for the United States.

In February, a more visible law enforcement presence was put in place at federal facilities, he said.

“The department has conducted significant outreach efforts … with state and local law enforcement partners regarding these trends and engaging in a series of meetings and events with local community leaders across the country to counter violent extremism,” he said.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — A spokesman for a Muslim couple in Alabama says their 20-year-old daughter fled a Birmingham suburb to join Islamic State militants in Syria after being recruited on the Internet.

Attorney Hassan Shibly spoke at a Birmingham mosque on Monday on behalf of the parents of the young woman, whom he identified only as Hoda.

Shibly said Hoda left in November after being “brainwashed” for an undetermined length of time. He says the woman’s actions go against the family’s wishes and against the teachings of Islam.

The spokesman added that Hoda’s family has been in contact with U.S. law enforcement and government officials since she disappeared.

Members of the Birmingham Muslim community were meeting on Monday evening to discuss how to protect other children from the influence of militants.

A video purporting to show the killing of Ethiopian Christians by Islamic State-affiliated militants in Libyahas been released online.

The 29-minute video appears to show militants holding two groups of captives, one by an affiliate in eastern Libya known as Barka Province and the other by the Fazzan Province, an affiliate in the south.

A masked fighter wielding a pistol says Christians must convert to Islam or pay a special tax prescribed by the Quran, before the captives in the south are shown being shot dead and the captives in the east are beheaded on a beach.

In January, militants loyal to the Islamic State group, also known as ISIS and ISIL, claimed responsibility for an attack on the Corinthia hotel in the Libyan capital of Tripolithat left 10 people including an American and four other foreigners dead.

Extremist groups, including some that have pledged allegiance to ISIL, have risen in the country since the overthrow of dictator Moammar Gadhafi in 2011.

In February, Egypt began airstrikes against ISIL targets in Libya hours after militants released a video purporting to show the mass beheading of Egyptian Christian hostages.

ISIL controls vast swaths of Syria and neighboring Iraq. The extremists were recently driven out of Saddam Hussein’s hometown of Tikrit by Iraqi forces and allied Shiite militias, helped by U.S.-led coalition airstrikes.

The battle for Tikrit was seen as a key step toward driving the militants out of Mosul, Iraq’s second-largest city.

‘Mom! Dad! Jihadi John is going to slaughter me!’ president says before he is killed in animated video

Affiliates of the Islamic State group have released an animated video depicting a jihadist beheading US President Barack Obama.

The clip, which was uploaded and translated on Saturday by MEMRI, a US-based Middle Eastern media watchdog group, begins with the words “Message to America,” followed by a scene portraying the American president on his knees and crying profusely.

The president’s head is seen held by “Jihadi John” — the British citizen infamous for his role in videos showing the grisly executions of Western citizens captured by the terrorist group — who slaps the American president on the head, calling him a “mule” in Arabic.

“This knife has been craving Obama’s stinky blood and today Allah gave us the power to capture the mule of the Jews,” the executioner says, slapping the president once again and demanding he speak.

“Mom! Dad! Jihadi John is going to slaughter me! Save me!” Obama says in Arabic before the cartoon depicts the jihadist severing the neck of the American commander-in-chief.

Here’s the video (graphic):

The two-minute clip concludes with Obama waking up from a nap in his office, which bears little to no resemblance to the Oval Office of the White House, sobbing over what is assumed to be a bad dream.

The Islamic State regularly threatens the United States and Obama for their perceived interference in the Muslim world; in the execution videos of journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff, and aid worker Peter Kassig, the executioner called out the American president, asserting that the cessation of US-led airstrikes against the terrorist group was the sole action that could save America.

New ISIS Video Calls for Attacks on the American Homeland, Promises Another 9/11

New ISIS Video Calls for Attacks on the American Homeland, Promises Another 9/11

At this juncture I would note the New York Times’ front page article on December 29 that described how America’s top war fighters, namely Special Operations Command, freely admit that they don’t understand the ideology driving ISIS and other Islamic terror groups:

WASHINGTON — Maj. Gen. Michael K. Nagata, commander of American Special Operations forces in the Middle East, sought help this summer in solving an urgent problem for the American military: What makes the Islamic State so dangerous?

Trying to decipher this complex enemy — a hybrid terrorist organization and a conventional army — is such a conundrum that General Nagata assembled an unofficial brain trust outside the traditional realms of expertise within the Pentagon, State Department and intelligence agencies, in search of fresh ideas and inspiration. Business professors, for example, are examining the Islamic State’s marketing and branding strategies.

“We do not understand the movement, and until we do, we are not going to defeat it,” he said, according to the confidential minutes of a conference call he held with the experts. “We have not defeated the idea. We do not even understand the idea.”

General Nagata’s frustration is shared by other American officials. Even as President Obama and his top civilian and military aides express growing confidence that Iraqi troops backed by allied airstrikes have blunted the Islamic State’s momentum on the ground in Iraq and undermined its base of support in Syria, other officials acknowledge they have barely made a dent in the larger, longer-term campaign to kill the ideology that animates the terrorist movement.

You can call in all the marketing executives and Harvard academics all you like, but when the Obama administration — meaning the entire U.S. government – as a matter of established policy refuses to acknowledge the ideology and intentions that our enemy publishes IN ENGLISH in the form of videos, audio recordings and magazines, and actively prohibits anyone in a government department or agency from discussing or speaking about said ideology, you really are beyond hope. And so is America.

ISIS hackers seize control of France’s TV5Monde network in ‘unprecedented’ attack

ISIS hackers seize control of France’s TV5Monde network in ‘unprecedented’ attack

Still unable to broadcast anything but pre-recorded programs  after “unprecedented” cyber attack as French government denounces “act of terrorism”

Hackers claiming allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) on Thursday seized control of TV5Monde, France‘s international TV network, knocking out its 11 channels, website and social media accounts in an attack the government dubbed an “act of terrorism”.

TV5Monde was still struggling to regain control of its channels on Thursday morning, forced to broadcast only pre-recorded programmes after what its director called an “unprecedented attack in the history of television” in which its systems were “severely damaged”. It was back to normal operations by 8pm on Thursday night.

Yves Bigot, the network’s chief, said he was shaken when a black screen appeared across the entire network at around 10pm local time on Wednesday night.

“When we discovered the sense of the message appearing on our social media and our websites, it both allowed us to understand what was happening and obviously worried us,” he told RTL radio.

At the same time, a group calling itself CyberCaliphate issued a message on the website of TV5Monde, which broadcasts to 200 countries, stating: “I am IS” – another term for Isil.

Technicians later pulled this down and posted an “under maintenance” sign.

The French government on Thursday denounced the cyberattack as an “act of terrorism”. Manuel Valls, the prime minister, said the cyber strike was an “unacceptable attack on the freedom of information and expression”.

Fleur Pellerin, the culture minister, said: “I offer all my support and solidarity to the team at TV5Monde, victims of an obvious terrorist act.”

She said she would convene a crisis meeting with “representatives from the broadcast media and perhaps the written press” on Friday to look at ways of preventing a repeat of such an attack.

Bernard Cazeneuve, the interior minister, said an investigation had been launched into the channel hacking, adding:”We are facing determined terrorists and we are determined to fight them.”

The hackers posted documents on TV5Monde’s Facebook page purporting to be the identity cards and CVs of relatives of French soldiers involved in anti-Isil operations, along with threats against the troops.

“Soldiers of France, stay away from the Islamic State! You have the chance to save your families, take advantage of it,” read one message. “The CyberCaliphate continues its cyberjihad against the enemies of Islamic State,” it went on.

TV5Monde was due to launch on Thursday a new channel dedicated to French “art de vivre”. Mr Bigot said he doubted the attack was timed to coincide with this at it would have required weeks of preparation.

It occurred on the day that France’s Senate published a report revealing that almost half of European jihadists known to have travelled to territory held by Isil are French. Some 1,500 French nationals are thought to have travelled to the area.

France has moved to strengthen its cyber security in the wake of the January terrorist attacks in Paris by gunmen claiming links to Isil and al-Qaida in Yemen. Afterwards, the defence minister said hackers had targeted some 19,000 French websites.

Isil has claimed complex hackings before – a group with the same name hacked Newsweek’s Twitter feed in February – but this appears to be its most spectacular act of cyber warfare to date.

When the attack was over Fleur Pellerin, the culture minister, warned other French media to remain “vigilant”, saying they could not rule out “similar powerful attacks happening that are already planned”.

ISIS On The Streets Of Metro Detroit? Officials Say It Was A Planned Exercise

ISIS Flag terrorist

There was some concern in Detroit Sunday morning after an ISIS flag was seen hanging from the side of a truck near the United States Army Reserve Center.

Officials told WWJ Newsradio 950 that the flag was being used as a part of an anti-terrorism training exercise, and the truck had briefly left the property.

Such a vehicle wouldn’t normally leave the base, and officials understand why there would be confusion and apologized.

They say using foreign flags and symbols make their exercises authentic.

It happened as tensions were high following a group claiming to be the Islamic State Hacking Division reportedly posting information on the Internet, including photos, of about 100 members of the Air Force, Army and Navy, according to SITE Intelligence.

The US Marine Corps urged members of the military, in a statement, to be especially cautious online and limit the amount of personal information available about them.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Islamic State has posted online what it says are the names, U.S. addresses and photos of 100 American military service members, and called upon its “brothers residing in America” to kill them.

The Pentagon said after the information was posted on the Internet that it was investigating the matter. “I can’t confirm the validity of the information, but we are looking into it,” a U.S. defense official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said on Saturday.

“We always encourage our personnel to exercise appropriate OPSEC (operations security) and force protection procedures,” the official added.

In the posting, a group referring to itself as the “Islamic State Hacking Division” wrote in English that it had hacked several military servers, databases and emails and made public the information on 100 members of the U.S. military so that “lone wolf” attackers can kill them.

The New York Times reported that it did not look like the information had been hacked from U.S. government servers and quoted an unnamed Defense Department official as saying most of the information could be found in public records, residential address search sites and social media.

The Times quoted officials as saying the list appeared to have been drawn from personnel mentioned in news articles about air strikes on Islamic State. The group’s forces control parts of Syria and Iraq and have been targeted in U.S.-led air strikes.

The posting, addressed to disbelievers, Christians and “crusaders” in America, included what the group said were the names, military service branch, photos and street addresses of the individuals. The posting includes the military rank of some but not all of those named.
